Casimir

Status: Alive — at the Vistani camp southwest of Vallaki; captive-guest of the Vistani

Known Information

Elder of the surviving Dusk Elves. Sits by a fire holding a very large dagger and looking grim. Receives visitors with the calm of someone who has made peace with captivity and is now running out the clock.

The Dusk Elves came to this camp over a century ago under a Vistani clan leader named Belikov, who took them in as refugees after Strahd destroyed their people. Belikov was kind. His descendants are not. The current Vistani who run the camp — Luvash and Arigal — keep the Dusk Elves here on Strahd's behalf. The arrangement is equal parts shelter and imprisonment. Casimir expects to outlive them and see better days, though he is not certain what better days look like at this point.

There are no female Dusk Elves. All that remain are the men housed in the low buildings at the base of the hill, watched over by the Vistani above.

During conversation, Casimir was observed muttering quietly to something or someone not visible. This happened more than once. He was not aware that Merich noticed.
