Doru

Status: Alive (vampire spawn) — chained in the basement of the Church of the Morning Lord

Known Information

Son of Father Donavich. About a year before Session 4, Doru was convinced by a foreign wizard to join a revolt against Strahd von Zarovich. Villagers gathered with swords, fire, and pitchforks and stormed Castle Ravenloft. Strahd killed everyone except Doru, who returned to Barovia in a blood haze as vampire spawn.

Donavich found him, chained him in the church basement, and has kept him there unfed since. Doru screams for blood and escape constantly.

The party spoke to him through the trapdoor without opening it. He agreed to be good in exchange for blood; Celeste's insight caught the lie. He knew nothing about Strahd's broader plans — he is spawn, not a confidant.

He lunged at the trapdoor when the conversation became frustrating. He is weakened from starvation but still dangerous.

The party chose not to kill him, feed him, or free him. He is still in the basement.
